thinka Feline Immunodeficiency Virus Ab/ Feline Leukemia Virus Ag Test Combo Kit FIV/FeLV, which shall be released by ARKRAY, Inc. (hereafter 'ARKRAY'), is a virus infection test kit for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (hereafter 'FIV')*1 antibody and Feline Leukemia Virus (hereafter 'FeLV')*2 antigen.
FIV and FeLV are major feline infections and a key characteristic is that the incidence rates for these infections are high. It is said that 1 in every 10 cats is infected with FIV and 1 in every 20 cats is infected with FeLV.*3 Contact with infected cats serves as the cause of infection for both diseases. Therefore, not only will the test kit enable comprehension of the condition of an infected cat but it will also lead on to preventing the risk of propagation, through the early determination of infection.
The test kit allows simultaneous testing of FIV and FeLV with simple 2-step operation. With only 10 minutes required until result determination, the kit shall support early detection and prompt treatment.
ARKRAY shall continue to contribute to the frontlines of veterinary treatment by endeavoring in the development and provision of a wide range of products and services that meet the various needs in this field.

• Operation & Determination Method
*1 Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) is a pathogenic virus that is spread by contact with matter such as the saliva of an infected cat. If the disease develops upon infection, a cat's immune system is weakened and symptoms such as stomatitis and dirrhea develop. Ultimately the disease results in death. Rather than developing immediately after infection, the immune strength of an infected cat usually decreases gradually over a span of around 5 years.
*2 Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a pathogenic virus that is spread by contact with matter such as the saliva, tears, feces, urine and milk of an infected cat. Infection causes not only leukemia to develop but also a variety of symptoms such as lowered immune strength, anemia and lymphoma. However, for some cases when symptoms are not visible or are light, complete recovery has been observed.
